  • Michael

Our Practice Manager, Michael was born and raised in Alabama. He attended junior college in Marion, AL, before completing a Bachelor’s degree at LSU, where he met his wife, Amanda. Michael lived in Alabama, Louisiana, and Virginia before deciding to move back home with his wife and young son, Wesley, in 2022. As an Army Reservist, he has traveled around the world. Michael mostly works in the back office, but when he’s around, you can easily spot him sporting his ACU scrubs. Michael enjoys spending time with his family, petting his dogs, learning new things, and playing video games. Michael’s most interesting pet was a rescue goose named “Goosetave.”

  • Christie

Christie here! I am our Office Manager and receptionist. I started as a stay at home mom to two girls and once my kids got older I decided I wanted to do more. I have always loved animals and decided to try a part time job at a vet office. I now have 5 years under my belt working in all positions at the office and I feel deeply that working all the positions has made me better in my role. I love being a part of a team that truly works together and also learning all the personalities of all the breeds of animals we see in the clinic. My favorite part though is interacting with the clients and their pets. When we have frequent flyers or clients and pets that come in often they start to feel like family and relationships are forged and bonds made. We love the pets as much as the owners. I love what I do because we are constantly learning. Some cases aren't easy and we have to work hard to determine the diagnoses. Watching Dr, Joki work and seeing that we can make the pets better brings me joy. What drives me daily is making sure that our patents have the best quality of care and making the clients and patents lives better. On my off time I enjoy music and traveling for concerts, camping, watching premier league soccer and cooking for my family. My favorite animal is dachshund!

  • Angela

Hey there, I'm Angela! I'm a Vet Assistant at our clinic and have worked in Veterinary Medicine for about 7 years as an assistant and supervisor. While I enjoy interacting with the diverse breeds and species I really enjoy being a part of a team that's helping others to keep pets happy and healthy. I've always loved Science and animals and veterinary medicine combines those interests. I love knowing that at the end of my day I was able to help a pet and their owners in some way. I love being in nature, jamming to music and playing Kendama. I lived in New York for 29 years, growing up on Long Island and then traveling across the state. My favorite animal is Giraffes! I subconsciously believe that it's because I'm short and I've always wanted to be taller.

  • Nikki

Hiya, I'm Nikki! I am a mother of 3 boys! Being a boy mom has been the greatest gift! I am a Vet Assistant at Westwood. I started my career journey in retail and decided it was time for a change and went to work with my husband at a ranch. While there a Vet came out to help us palpate (check cows for pregnancy) and he recruited me for his office. I've been in Veterinary Medicine for just over a year, but I've loved every minute of it. I've always had a bunch of animals myself and enjoy seeing all the fur babies that come in each day and seeing firsthand the difference we all make in the patents life as well as the owners. I try to live my life by the golden rule 'Always treat others how you'd want to be treated'. Having compassion for others definitely goes a long way. Outside of work I enjoy time with my own animals and the outdoors. I love to hunt and fish, but my favorite thing is to kayak. I'm a Florida native so the beach is my happy place! I've had dogs my whole life I love the companionship they offer but also have cows and horses despite being highly allergic to them both. I just take daily meds and keep an epi pen ready haha. My favorite animal is a Pig! Did you know you can train them just like a dog? They're actually highly intelligent and show their feelings similar to humans.

  • Emily

Hi! I'm Emily and I'm the Kennel Tech at Westwood Pet Care. I have a pet cat named Kiba who loves play time, treats and to adventure in our backyard. My Favorite animal is a Panda Bear. They're so clumsy and look so cute when they're munching on a tasty bamboo snack! One thing I love about working in pet care is seeing the difference we can make when a pet is back to feeling like their normal selves. Another part of my job is to give pets baths when they are brought in. I love to treat it like their spa day where the pets can be bathed and pampered then brushed out so that they can return to their owners clean and happy.

  • Nya

Hi my name is Nya. I am a native of New Jersey. I have lived in Alabama for 3 years. An avid and competitive soccer player in high school, I enjoy sports, but my true passion is caring for animals. As an Advocate and Voice for the Voiceless, I thoroughly enjoy engaging in all facets of animal care. As a mother to 3 Fur Babies, (a 16-year-old poodle, named Zoey, a 3-year-old hound mix dog name Neji, and a stray, turned house cat, name Jack Frost). I have spent my life loving my pets, as well as stray animals in need of help. Ever since I was little I would feed, protect, and care for abandoned, stray animals. My desire was always to work with animals as a profession. I received my Veterinarian Assistant Certificate from Wallace Community College and was eager to obtain a job in the field. I am a proud wife of 3-years to an amazing Army Paratrooper & Fireman, and the loving, doting Mommy of a one-year-old son, who is the love of my life. We just purchased a home in Dothan and are eager to become an active part of the community!
